About Veterinary Physiotherapy

What is Veterinary Physiotherapy?

Like any athlete regular quality care is vital to help enhance performance, promote comfort and reduce the risk of strain and injury.

Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury, conditions and / or deformity by using holistic treatment methods such as massage, electrotherapies and remedial exercise to help overall improve an animals quality of life.

Who can benefit from physiotherapy?

Much like Human physiotherapy any animal can benefit from Veterinary physiotherapy. This can range from golden oldies needing extra help to perform daily tasks. Family pets and animals recovering from injury or working animals that are competing who need performance enhancement. 

Routine treatments can help reduce the risk of injury and increase performance and help to overall optimise animal welfare.


All About Veterinary Consent 


As per the Veterinary Surgeons Exemptions Order 2015, physiotherapeutic treatment of a pre-existing conditions require consent from a veterinary surgeon before treatment can take place

If your animal has an existing pathology, please contact me. So that I can contact the vet for consent. 

Under new regulations (RCVS, Section 19.24, November 2020), Physiotherapy for the purpose of maintenance in healthy animals does not require consent by a veterinary surgeon.
